Lauren Smith loves to sing. And she loves to sing jazz. She can break your heart with a ballad like "You Don't Know What Love Is," and mend it again with bouncy renditions of favorite standards like "Cheek to Cheek." A classically trained mezzo-soprano, Smith is known for her crystal-clear vocal tone and powerful three-octave range.

Smith graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2006, with a BA in Psychology (with honors) and a minor in Western Art Music, and was a soloist with the UCSC Jazz Combos.
